Jon was fortunate to have had Jane Sullivan as his teacher and Karen Kelly as his social worker at BHS who both worked diligently and patiently with Jon through the years to bring out Jons academic "talents". They had their work cut out for them as Jon had severe OCD issues and focusing problems plus other medical issues he tried hard to overcome. They worked hard to find Jons academic strengths and time and again he amazed them with his intelligence in various areas, i.e. calculus etc. I've never seen school staff go over and above what they were required to do as Jane and Karen did so often with Jon. Jon called BHS his "home away from home" and worked hard to make high school a success. He already completed and passed his MCAS tests for BHS and was all set with that. He needed to get his credits to finish. Because of medical and medication issues, Jon regrettfully dropped out of BHS around 2005. The following school year he re-enrolled to try again to finish high school as he desperately wanted to attend CCCC to take Ancient History and psychology as he wanted to become a Psychologist to help others with their problems, and of course needed his diploma to continue his education. He also was interested in the Army and knew he needed it to sign up. Jon tried hard to make high school work this time but his medical issues continually got in the way and he left in 2006, which greatly upset him. Jon changed his plans. In May 2008 Jon went to JTEC to enroll to obtain his GED. He also kept in touch with the recruitors on North Street to let them know he was working towards his goals.
